DGTE engine partially supported

Post by Frostybear » Thu Nov 14, 2024 7:37 am

Hi,

I have DGTE engine with
SW: 04L906056HN/6590
HW: 04L9074456

According to app description this engine is partially supported depending on sw version. I haven't bought the full app yet, but what could be missing? Post injection 2/3?

Thanks

Hello, in my database the "nox sulfur charge" value seems to remain always zero with some ECU software version. At the moment I don't have positive feedback for all sw versions, so it remains partially supported.

I don't have the full version of vag dpf yet, but I do have obd eleven and I have found that I have 0.00g for 'NOX catalyst accumulator, sulfur charge, act. value calculated'

I have VCDS as well (only just got it) so I can do some more digging for you if you want.

But if it's impossible to get a value for the nox sulfur charge, how does this affect vag dpf?

I've seen doing a quick search that the sulfur value can trigger regens too. So I'd just be missing that info.
At some stage I'll plug in VCDS and see if maybe that info is at a different address or something

I confirm, engines with NOx filter have little short regenerations to reduce that value. They are very short and normally you don't notice them.
With the app you can suddenly see a temporary temperatures increasing with some post injections and, with the NOx value visible, you will see the NOx decreasing.

I have the full version of vag dpf now and I've yet to notice these mini regens for the nox sulfur value, I'll keep an eye out.

I don't really need it though tbh, the main thing is the DPF Regen which is really handy to know. VW shouldn't have hidden this in my opinion, so much better to know when a Regen is going to come and when it is active!

Hello Frostybear,

I also have a DGTE engine, but my ECU software is different:

- Vehicle: 2019 SEAT Ateca 1.6 TDI DSG
- ECU: Delphi DCM6.2
- SW: 04L906056TG / 7226
- HW: 04L907445G

I would like to ask you about the Post Injection 3 parameter.

On my vehicle, Post Injection 3 frequently shows around 1.21–1.31 mg/str, even when the engine is fully warm and idling. Post Injection 1 and 2 remain at 0.00 mg/str.

I also observe the following behaviour while driving:

- With the accelerator pressed, Post Injection 3 usually stays around 1.21–1.31 mg/str.
- When I release the accelerator and the engine enters overrun/deceleration, it drops to 0.00 mg/str.
- As the vehicle slows down further, without touching the accelerator, it becomes active again and returns to around 1.21–1.31 mg/str.
- This happens outside active DPF regeneration as well.

The engine runs normally and there are no fault codes, but my fuel consumption is approximately 1 litre/100 km higher than comparable 1.6 TDI vehicles.

Could you please check whether your DGTE shows similar Post Injection 3 values at warm idle and during normal driving?

I am particularly interested in knowing whether yours also remains active outside DPF regeneration, or whether it normally stays at 0.00 mg/str.

Thank you!
