Question regarding the way this app reads data from the ECU

Post by JuliK » Sat Mar 06, 2021 4:43 pm

Hello,

i recently bought the app and i'm very happy with it. I also use torque in combination with OBD2 for Android Auto to display live data on my head unit.

Unfortunately torque is unable to read any DPF related data from my cars (Audi 3.0TDI CCWA) ECU with its standard PID set. There is an option to add custom PIDs but there's very little information about VW/Audi specific PIDs available online.

Does this app read its data in a similar way to torque? Is it possible to read the same data through torque?

I really appreciate any help. Having some kind of regeneration indicator on my head unit would be awesome.

I used Torque many years ago and I remember that it works using the OBD protocol.
My app use the canbus iso protocol instead that is more complicated. Sincerely I don't know if the 2 protocols share something because I didn't analyze the OBD protocol in depth.
