Help with DPF report

Post by neboland » Sun Aug 07, 2022 11:58 pm

Hi all admins,

Just one quick check:
I started monitoring DPF with your app today, and have one issue with big instant jump of SOOT MASS CALC (g): from 1.12g to 18.12g.
Could yo suggest me possible reasons for that?

Also few hours before with active connected app, when DPF regeneration was finished, with next result 3(g) i got fault code on OBDII P145F - pending (with yellow flashing heater/spiral icon). After turning car off and on, no problem repeated.

Car is 1.6 TDI Skoda Octavia 2012 105hp

Usually a big jump in the soot mass calculated is related to a differential pressure sensor failure. It's only a statistic.

Of course the app can't be used as a diagnostic tested to obtain the exact reason of the failure, but you can start with that sensor, it's the first check that usually is done.
The app reads the sensor, but the values can be difficult to be understand because they change continuously and the values can also be different depending on the engine type. If you find data from another same engine, you can try to compare the values in the same conditions.
