Hi,
Just bought your wonderful VAG DPF app and have been going through all the previous posts to familiarise myself with the various terms.
My Oil Ash Residue is expressed in litres, yet in most of the posts I have read it is expressed in grammes.
I've looked in "General Options" and cannot find anywhere to alter this figure. As "grammes" seems to be the popular term, can you tell me how I can change it?
Thanks.
Oil Ash Residue.
Re: Oil Ash Residue.
It's a common question.
The measuring unit depends on what I find in the available parameters list, if I find grams I use it, the second option is liters. If I find both, I prefer grams because it has more definition.
So some engine groups have the value in liters because the tested engines used to build those groups had only liters available.
Then I added more engines to existing groups following the suggestions came from users, but I didn't tested those new engines directly with my instruments. It's possibile that some engine has also grams value, but I can't verify that with my instruments.
You can try all other engine groups to check if the value in grams become available. If not' this means that your engine probably has only the value in liters.
Anyway, the conversion factor from grams to liters is 400.

Re: Oil Ash Residue.
Thanks for your reply.
I'm still a bit confused as to whether I multiply or divide the litres by 400.
What will 0.11 litre be in grams?

Re: Oil Ash Residue.
grams = liters x 400
0,11 liters = 44 grams
0,11 liters = 44 grams
