The screen remains on only when the automatic data reading is enabled, you can check if the option is on looking for the green arrows on the filter image.

Sorry for replying to an old topic but is this option available only in paid version? I'm using free and keeping the screen on and auto-refresh is the only thing that's missing for me and wouldn't mind paying for those features.

Yes it's only in paid app.
The free app has been created only to check the adapter and the engine compatibility, so it contains only the strictly required strings of code.
