Re: Intervalle regeneration 1.6 tdi

Sometimes can happen to wait over the 100% of filling, for example in case of frequent engine stops or running with low fuel, but this souldn't be the normality. I've seen for some engines that the set value for 100% filling was wrong and this is the reason why I added an option to manually override...

Re: Intervalle regeneration 1.6 tdi

The average distance between regenerations is different between every engine and car model, you should collect opinions from CXXB owners. The value you report can be correct, this is not the first time I read similar values, moreover a tuned ECU can increase the injected fuel quantity creating more ...

Re: CUUA Engine - Negative soot mass measured

Don't worry, this is a common problem for all engines. Soot mass measured meaning is still unclear. Taking the opportunity of your post, I could add you engine to the app but I need some confirmations: does "Regen duration" field increase during the regeneration? does "Distance since last regen" fie...

Re: CUUA Engine - Negative soot mass measured

It's no so simple: that value is somehow crazy, it doesn't increas linearly and becomes negative. I could add an offeset yes, but I don't do it because this strange value is exactly the same you can read in the official ODIS instrument of VAG. This is the reason why I never tried to correct the valu...

Re: Audi CRTD engine.

Thanks for the update, useful to know how your engine works. Unfortunately, I can't test every VAG engine and these ECU differences can't be predicted without a real engine scan using my instruments. As you said, this isn't a blocking issue and you can use the app without problems, keeping in mind t...

29 or 30 should be the right value.
Let us know how it works, thanks

Re: Seat leon 2.0 tdi

Everything seems ok, but you should check the health of the filter checking the regeneration frequency. The internal part if the filter image is dynamic, it changes depending on the soot mass filling percentage trying to replicate the real filling, so almost clear with low percentage and almost dark...

Re: Audi CRTD engine.

This mismatch with 3.0 TDI engines is the reason why I added a special option in the menu to override the field regeneration limit. I didn't tested any 3.0 TDI so all the compatibility is based on user's reports. I read that many users have the same problem due to a different dimension of the DPT fi...

Re: Jump in Calculated Soot Mass

In your graph I sww what many users told me: when there is a fault in the DPF system, the soot mass calculated value is wrong and the soot mass measured, that usually doesn't make sense (negative values, etc) becomes the most realiable value to check. In your graph it seems the ECU forced the regene...

Re: Oil Ash Residue.

This is not directly related to the engine oil. This is a residue coming from the fuel combustion and it isn't removable, in fact when this deposit reaches the maximum accepted value, the filter must be replaced. Only in this case, using a diagnostic tester, the oil ash value can be reset to 0 corre...

Re: Support for CBB engine Golf V 2.0 GTD

From a technical poin of view, it would be possible. The problem is that it would require a too big effort for me because the protocol is totally different and I should implement its compatibility starting from scratch without any car available for long time to test it. I'm sorry, despite I'd like t...

Re: Jump in Calculated Soot Mass

You can open the TXT file with excel and create the graph using the columns you want.

In this case it's useful to include also the "time since last regen" and "distance since last regen" to understand if the regeneration happens due to limits reached.

Found the problem: it was a stupid code error.
I'm going to release a new version, then you can also let the app to read the engine code from the ECU.

Let me know if it works.

Re: Audi CRTD engine.

I checked quickly but I don't find any errors in the code. I'll give a deep check with a test in car.

In the meantime can you try to uninstall and reinstall the app? Just to check if it's a cache problem.

Re: time since last regen min

150 miles can be ok is you use the car principally in city and sometimes in highways. I have about the same distance and I drive in city almost always with one highway trip of about 2-300km during the weekend in which the ECU usually do the regeneration. You could increase this distance driving many...

Re: Audi CRTD engine.

Ok thanks for the detailed explanation. It sounds strange for me because my engine (and also the engine of my previous car) has a limit both in time and distance that are many less than your values. Probably you have a bigger filter (this is the reason why it starts to regen at 30 grams instead of 2...

Re: Audi CRTD engine.

I'm creating the new group 16 and I have a question for you: I see in your screenshots the values "Distance since last regen" and "Time since last regen" very high compared to common values for TDI engines, can you check if they increase correctly? Distance can be easily compared to your dash mileag...

Re: Audi CRTD engine.

Field Regen request status is a parameter I used in engines who don't have the Regen duration value. I used that to understand when the ECU is performing the regeneration process: for both parameters the value 0 means no pending or running regen activities; Regen Duration shows the regeneration time...
