I've found some email of 2016-2017 and it seems this engine isn't supported. It should use the old VW diagnostic protocol, in fact using VCDS you'll see the old measuring block form with the group fields instead of the new measuring block method with advanced measuring and UDS requests.
Bye

Re: Support for new engine
Unfortunately old engines, like yours, using the old VW diagnostic protocol ISO-TP 2.0 don't work with my app.
I developed the app on the last protocol that is completely different from the previous.
I'm sorry

This is a world I need to explore. Probably I did never start because I don't have Android Auto in my car, so it would be difficult to test a beta version.

Re: Other Gauges from CanBus
The ECU parameter list is enormous. I know every user would like to have many parameters available, but with this app I'm focusing only on DPF so I prefer to avoid parameters not directly related to DPF and its functionality. The problem is that more parameters means low reading frequency and I don'...

Re: [Differential pressure-air flow volume] ratio analysis
I'm studying the relationship between differential pressure and air mass just to understand if the ratio is constant. Looking the average values it seems yes, but I think the big problem is the reading speed of the app. Unfortunately I can't have realtime values so for these kind of parameters that ...

Re: App auto-start and auto-reconnect to the OBD adapter
There are two options that can help you:
Auto connect on start
Enable auto-update function on start
With these two options enabled, when you launch the app it connects and starts to read data automatically. Isn't it enough for you? Just a single tap in the icon is requested.

Re: log format change or option to 2nd format output
Hi Radek,
interesting post.
But I don't understand what's the problem using excel to generate a graph. I use it daily without problems, I simply put all (or needed) data in a line graph and the time in X axis.
If I understand the problem, maybe I can correct the format.

Re: Coolant temp and oil temp
For the regeneration process, I think the post injection 3 value is most important than coolant temperature. Don't you agree? Maybe you're asking for that value generally speaking. In this case I agree with you, but this app was created focusing on DPF filter and its regeneration, so I need to show ...

The regeneration process from official VAG document
The following chapter, taken from an official VAG technical document of a CRBC engine, explains the phases of the regeneration process in an EA288 TDI engine. The same principles can be used for all recent VAG TDI engines. The regeneration of the particulate filter takes place in the following stage...

[Differential pressure-air flow volume] ratio analysis
Today I logged some values from my TDI and placed in a graph ;) I included also the DPF gas volume that isn't present in released app, just to understand the relationship between the ratio [differential pressure/air volume] and the [soot mass calculate]. As reported in technical documents, in fact, ...

Re: Erratic Differential Preassure readings
Very good! Your report will be useful for other people for sure.
Sometimes they ask me to check if the differential pressure values are correct, but I can't say that because I don't have experience about sensor failures.
Your report give us an evidence of a possible failure.
Thanks

The bluetooth connection is managed by the Android device, so every adapter compatible with the device requirements is ok.
Every device should connect using its official and older bluetooth versions.

Re: Erratic Differential Preassure readings
I don't have any reports about CAAC engine. You should try every engine group looking for some working correctly. About differential pressure issue, I don't have enough experience with that value, sincerely I can't evaluate your values. But let me know the results of your investigation, I'm interest...
Re: Problem
The CAYC engine I've tested in the past didn't have it.
I need to make a scan with my instruments to learn the correct request for the ECU. I hope to do it in the future when I'll have a CAYC engine available to be tested.

Re: Problem
It's normal: before connecting, the app doesn't know your engine code so the default setup is for the engine group 0 that has the differential pressure. After connecting, the app recognize your engine and changes the engine group to the number 6 that doesn't have the differential pressure. Unfortuna...

Re: non advisable elm327 for vag dpf app
I've also found adapters that require a continuous data transmission to keep the connection alive. These are low quality adapters, despite they work well. I can confirm KONNWEY quality, but I just have one piece and few reports from users. Another discrete quality adapter is Vgate iCar. I bought ver...
Re: Problem
Not all engines have the differential pressure value available for reading. CAYC engine in particular has many different configurations due to its various firmware versions. The engine I tested months ago didn't have that value in the engine parameters list, but some users report me the existence of...

Re: Erratic Differential Preassure readings
The differential pressure field, for some engines, is given from similar engines that share all the other fields. Unfortunately I don't have the full map of measuring blocks for every VAG engine. Can you verify the differential pressure values using another tester like VCDS or ODIS? A wrong calculat...
