Re: Would you be able to start manual regeneration?

Yes would be a great feature, I know, but when I started this project I decided to create a read-only app to avoid any kind of problem for the final users, also considering that I don't have documentation about the VAG software, so all of the the parts of the app have been created with reverse engin...

Re: Support for DSRB engine

The adapter is ok, the engine should communicate ... I don't have any idea now.
Maybe check that there isn't interference with other bluetooth devices like the car telephony bluetooth.
Otherwise I can only suppose a different protocol in the DSRB engine.

Re: Support for DSRB engine

This error occurs when the app can't communicate with the ECU using both full-length CAN requests and 2-bytes-long OBD2 requests.
Can you confirm that your adapter works with a generic OBD2 app?

Re: Support for DSRB engine

This is very strange, I have no doubt about the Carista quality.
Can you send me a screenshot of the app after the connection attempt?

Re: Support for DSRB engine

Seems a low quality adapter issue. What kind of adapter are you using?

Re: Support for DSRB engine

At the moment I have only one feedback that confirms it works using the engine group 5, but the "oil ash" value can't be read. Also the "regen duration" and "time since last regen" values have an issue: they show a duration 10 times than the real. Other parameters seem ok but I can't be completely s...

Re: ELM 327

Recently I noted that many firmware crackers started to implement some kind of feature in their ELM to reply always "OK" to every request to trick apps like mine. To make a deeper check, I added in the log the detailed result of the ATPPS command to show all the programmable parameters. The visibili...

Good thanks for the feedback.

Please keep checking the parameter with value 0, they must change depending on their function.
If you need help to understand, feel free to ask here.

Re: What are these icons?

The 2 icons are visible when there is a regeneration in progress or pending. This second case occurs when a regeneration is interrupted and it can restart the next time you power on the engine, or can remain pending waiting for the next filter filling. The ECU decides if it's better to restart an in...

Re: Passat 2.0 TDI EVO - DSRA

I don't have feedback about it, but I've recently added the engine group 18 containing a new 2021 TDI.
You could try that group in the full app or the group 13 in the lite app to verify if there is communication. You have to set it manually in the options menu.

Re: Intervalle regeneration 1.6 tdi

Based on my personal experience, I noted that the post injection 1 is commanded very often in the normal engine operation and during the regeneration, its value is slightly higher than normal or similar. The regenerations 2 and 3 are almost never commanded during normal operation, but they're highly...

Re: New here. Please help

I don't have direct experience like yours. The input gas temperature normally stays between 600 and 700 degrees thanks to the post injections 2 and 3. The additional fuel injected increases the gas temperature. If your temperature fluctuate, you can check the post injections to understand if the val...

Re: Interesting subject

In my opinion, it's impossibile that your car didn't regenerate for years. The standard diesel engine working mode, since DPF exists, includes regenerations. You can be lucky and have them very spaced up, but you can't avoid to have them. I've never heard or read about engines without regenerations....

Re: Interesting subject

Ok now it's clear. Your analysis is correct, but the 2 possibile regeneration methods differ in the soot burning rate, in fact the active regeneration is extremely more powerful than the passive one. You can see this taking a loot at the charge rate value (the first on top right) while active and pa...

Re: Interesting subject

I'm not sure to understand all your post, but my first question is: what's the problem you see? In the pictures and in your description I don't read any problem. Maybe you want to keep the soot mass value stable just driving at high speed/revs? In this case you have to check the gas temperature, whe...

Re: 2020 2.0 TDi EVO Engines support

The last full version contains the new group 18 for DTTC 2021 engine that I tested physically. If you're using the free version, the engine group 5 should give you readable data, but your problem is that the initialization doesn't finish correctly. With DTTC engine I've verified that the protocol is...

Re: Regen every drive

I agree with you, this behavior can mean a sensor failure. Moreover I see the measured soot mass with realistic values and this happens when the calculated value isn't correct (usually the measured value is negative and not realistic). I think that the ECU starts the regeneration so frequently becau...

Re: Newbe here with some questions.

How much km after the cleaning?

Sometimes I've seen similar behavior solved after 500-1000km. It seems that the ECU requires some distance to "learn" the new information.
Maybe it's a choice made for safety reasons, could be a logic choice.
