Re: VAG DPF - one of the besg apps I've ever used

Thanks! I have the same engine but on an A4, the regeneration is quite hidden but if you pay attention you can feel the engine revs a little increased during the process. The idle revs are near 1000 rpm and the S-tronic shifts are a little delayed and higher. Using the car in city on working days an...

Re: Intervalle regeneration 1.6 tdi

I changed from post injection 1 to differential pressure because this second value is more related to the regeneration process than the first. Post injection 1 in fact is used principally for emissions and noise reduction so its value doesn't give useful information about the regeneration. Post inje...

Still nothing, the engine is too recent and I didn't have any opportunity to test it yet.

Re: DPF Light on after Active Regeneration

Never happened to me, maybe is due to the long regeneration time?
If the lamp is no off, for the ECU the problem is solved.

You should check the ECU error log with a diagnostic software, if there is an error it should have more details to better understand the problem.

Re: LOW km range between active regens

The car should inform you when the filter life is ended. I think the engineers have considered an acceptable performance if the oil ash level is within the limit, so I wouldn't have much trouble on that. Yes, the distance between regenerations will decrease day by day, but you shouldn't notice any d...

Re: LOW km range between active regens

The filter performance decreases due to the oil ashes increasing inside it. This is a slow process that takes about 250-300 k km to reach the maximum accepted value, but I don't know how the distance between regenerations will decrease after the filter replacement. I never experienced that.

Re: ELM 327

I own an Obdlink LX adapter that is worldwide known as very good. It uses an STN chip instead of ELM, but it's fully compatible with ELM specification and add more commands and programmable options for professional use. Obdlink has also an USB version that, I suppose, has the same quality. I don't h...

Re: ELM 327

The app can't test the adapter in a so detailed way. It just ask to the adapter if the AT command is known, but how it manages the command can't be tested with the device-to-adapter connection. It would be necessary to connect also the other side of the communication line and to perform a real commu...

Re: LOW km range between active regens

Understand the DPF behavior is useful to adapt the driving style, I agree. And I don't understand why VAG keep hiding all these information to the end users. Personally I didn't reach 600°C with a passive regeneration, I don't think is possibile or at least it's not so easy to do. In the graph you c...

Re: LOW km range between active regens

200km between regenerations can be right if you drive almost always in city and with frequent stops. The DPF lamp only is the first warning level in the dashboard and it's not so dangerous because it means you've overpassed the standard regeneration level. It's just a reminder to make a long trip as...

Re: Why do I see "nd" for 3 values?

Since some release ago, I introduced 2 different filter image areas that can change its color: the external area depends on the output gas temperature and the internal area depends on the regeneration process. In your case, the output gas temperature was high enough to change the external color. Thi...

Re: Field change

The parameters are predefined, you can't change them because they're linked to the engine type.
A little costomization is in my TODO list but not in the near future because there are other more important features and corrections to be implemented.

Re: Invocation of regeneration.

I know, but my personal rule is to avoid active commands that can introduce damages for the enigine. I can't know all the requirements planned by the engineers neither the error management in case of problems because there isn't an user guide to follow. Probably other softwares that have this comman...

It would be possibile for sure, but up to now I preferred to keep the app with only the 2 languages I know, to better and quicker apply the changes. Re: Why do I see "nd" for 3 values?

Everything seems ok but the soot mass calculated: you should keep checking it in next days/weeks to verify if every time the regeneration starts at about the same value. In this case it could be possibile a calculation error in the formula I used for your engine. Logging data you can also verify wha...

Re: Why do I see "nd" for 3 values?

Data looks ok, but you cut the regeneration phase in the log. Not a problem. I see your engine started the regeneration because it's reached the mileage or time limit, not for soot accumulation, in fact you can see that the regeneration was started at 12,61 grams instead of the commo value near 24 g...
