Re: CAYA support

CAYA should work fine. I received some confirmations from users, it should work using the engine group 6. I'm waiting for some other report from users to add it officially. If you want to try, your feedback could be the final confirmation for me.

Re: Audi CRTD engine.

No it isn't.

You've found the oil ash limit, what you need is the soot mass limit.

Oil ash is a deposit of unburned oil that remains in the filter and can't be removed (unless opening and cleaning the filter).
Soot mass is the particulate deposit that can be removed with the regeneration process.

Re: Audi CRTD engine.

You should check if the parameter "soot mass limit" or something similar is present in the ECU parameters list. This is the value you have to put in the "field regeneration limit override" text-box. Alternatively you can understand what's the limit used by your engine to start the regeneration. To d...

Re: Audi CRTD engine.

Very good! Now I see 2 problems: oil ash and egr closing are unreadable, you should check if another engine group is able to read also these parameters; in case you won't find it, it's better to disable these parameters clicking on them soot mass deposit has reach the 141% of filling, this means tha...

Re: Support for CDYA

CDYA uses the old diagnostic protocol.
Read the FAQ to understand why I can't add these engines to the supported engine list:

Re: DBGC engine

It could be correct, every engine has its own configuration. Post injections are used first to reduce emissions and noise but also to perform the regeneration increasing the DPF internal temperature. My doubt was if these values always stayed at 0, this would have meant a wrong request to the ECU, b...

Re: DBGC engine

Ok you can use that group, all the app functions will work. The only things to be verified are the post injections, you should check if the values will change using the car. Post injection 2 should change all the time using the car and post injection 3 should change principally during the regenerati...

Re: DBGC engine

Different groups share some parameters so it's possible that more than one group is fully working for the same engine. If you want an advise, post every group with all the parameters read correctly, then we can decide. * next to the engine code means that this engine was added to the list after a te...

Re: Support for new engine

Unfortunately I don't have reports about this engine. I think the app should be able to read data from it because it's pretty recent, but I can't be sure. EDIT: I have to correct my message, in this post http://www.applagapp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=377#p477 the user Megabsss tested successfull...

Re: dongle not supported or what?

Yes Carista work very well with VAG DPF, but you need to check if your engine is supported.

Re: DBGC engine

With auto detect setting, the app search for your engine code in the internal database and set the correct requests for it. In case the app doesn't find the engine, it remains set with the default engine code 0. I see in your screenshot that the EGR parameter isn't read correctly, so I suggest you t...

Re: Audi CRTD engine.

Unfortunately, remotely I can't help you more. What you could do is try to use another adapter, in case yours isn't good enough for the app (it's required a good quality adapter, not a low cost cloned version). Maybe you can ask for it to a friend. Your engine is pretty recent and almost all engines...

Re: Audi CRTD engine.

Unfortunately I don't have experience on that engine. Have you already tested it with the free app? Maybe it already works, you should try using every engine group (you can change it manually in the options menu).

Re: Dongle issue

VAG DPF requires at least an ELM327 version 1.3. If your dongle declares the v2.1 compatibility, you can return it because the support is only partial, watching the ELM327 identifier report. Support for the 4 versions of ISO 15765 protocol is present since version 1.0 of the ELM firmware, but in any...

Re: Jump in Calculated Soot Mass

Differential pressure value is available for your engine in the app, but it's not so easy to understand if the values your read are ok. You should ask to someone who own the same engine or with an expert about the DPF system.
Moreover, the diff. pressure sensor couldn't be the cause of this failure.

Re: Jump in Calculated Soot Mass

I've seen similar step when the "mileage since last regeneration" reached the maximum acceptable value. In fact, one of the protection of the DPF system is the limiting of the maximum mileage between regenerations to prevent the risk of fire in case of failure of some sensor. Limiting the mileage, t...
